Our Story, because EVERYONE has a Story....
The Breast Cancer Club is a “club” no one ever wants to join, but both Stacey and Peggy are members and survivors! Stacey was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999, right after opening the first Queen of Hearts location in Alpharetta. She underwent chemotherapy and radiation and was celebrating her 10 years as a survivor…when Peggy was diagnosed and underwent a double mastectomy with reconstruction. Even though Peggy had been working at the Queen in Alpharetta for several years prior to her diagnosis, their friendship did not begin until the fateful day when she placed a tearful phone call to Stacey letting her know that she would be taking some time off… The following year after Peggy's surgeries and treatment were complete, they both signed up for the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk in Atlanta, got a team of 6 together called the “Queen of Tatas” and began their journey together. You learn a lot about someone on miles of training walks, sleeping in a tent and walking 60 miles in 3 Days! The finish line was an unforgettable and emotional event with no blisters, thanks to Stacey's coaching and her orchestration of the training walks, and they raised over $25,000 thanks to Peggy's marketing efforts for the fundraising events, banners and team spirit! As their friendship grew, so did their professional respect for each other and out of that the idea for Antique Mall Consultants was born. They both bring a lot to the table and are committed to helping antique malls be successful...but more importantly, they are both survivors…and that’s a club everyone wants to join! As a tribute to all breast cancer survivors, Antique Mall Consultants will donate a portion of each consulting engagement to breast cancer research. |
